What does it mean to be a contemporary artist?

In the time of rapid changes and immitigable laws of the market, artistic profession is faced with new requirements. Contemporary artist is not just a devoted creative person, but a professional who can meet the requirements imposed by the market nowadays.
The aim of our programs and manners of work is to develop the students into academic citizens with highly developed artistic, ethic and esthetic awareness, but also the capability to make a living with their knowledge and skills.
That is the reason why our study programs are constantly being updated, why the cooperation with other academies in region and abroad is constantly being encouraged, and why the number of special projects, representing a trademark of our faculty, is constantly increasing.

Where is the Faculty of Fine Arts located?

The Faculty of Fine Arts is located in Cetinje, a cultural historical capital of Montenegro, in the edifice of the former Russian mission, in the very historical center of the town. In short distance, there are some of the most important cultural-historical monuments as well as the National Museum of Montenegro, with which our Faculty constantly cooperates. Academic surrounding is fulfilled with the Academy of Drama and Academy of Music, so the town is a small university center in which creative people from different regions exchange artistic energy and ideas. The dormitory is a two-minute walk from the Faculty, and there are also good transport networks with neighboring towns – students’ bus travels twice a week from Cetinje to Podgorica.

The Faculty of Fine Arts is composed of four study programs:

The Painting, offering traditional education in painting supervised by reputable Montenegrin painters, as well as a range of contents in the field of intermedia.
The Department for Sculpture with up-to-date program and contemporary technical equipment which enables the creation of pieces both in traditional and contemporary materials, with the constant support of professors and technical assistants.
The Department for Graphics with the comprehensive program in the field of traditional graphic techniques and digital graphics.
The Department for Graphic Design, offering contemporary education in this field, but also in the whole range of related contemporary branches: web design, multi media.

What does the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje offer to you?
